These garlic parmesan green beans are the perfect quick side dish. Crispy-tender green beans tossed with golden garlic, butter, and a generous amount of parmesan cheese. Ready in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking.
  2. Sauté the garlic: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add the green beans: Drain the green beans well and add to the skillet. Toss to coat in the garlic butter. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Finish with parmesan: Cook for 2-3 minutes, tossing occasionally. Remove from heat and toss with Parmesan cheese.
  5. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
